Jayme is originally from Tucson, Arizona where she is a 9th Generation Tucsonan. She grew up in a church where her mother worked and became a Christian at a young age of five. Her grandfather and family helped build and start the church, so it felt like home. Her grandparents also built an apartment on their property for Wycliffe Missionaries that came in the area to help Indian Tribes or were heading to Mexico. She grew up around many missionary families and church families that to this day are considered part of her extended family.
When she moved to Oregon for her profession and looked for a church, she wanted it to feel like home for her and her family and found that at NACC. Her two girls, Hunter (15) and Hayden (13), both have had the privilege of growing up at the church which feels like an extension of home.
Jayme started out volunteering in Children’s Ministry in 2003 and has had a major role in assisting the Children’s Directors in the past until 2014 when she became the Children’s Director. As Director, she wants other families and kids to feel like NACC is home, with extended family who care about their personal and spiritual needs and continue to help them grow in Christ.
She enjoys reading, gardening, going on adventures and hanging out with children. One of her favorite verses is Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
