Dear Church family-
As I shared with you Friday and on Sunday morning, we are in a very fluid situation.  Like the tide of the ocean that draws out before it draws in again our predicament will seemingly get worse before we return to our normal lives.

Monday, March 16th, the president held another press conference calling for everything and everyone to be aware of the potential dangers of spreading the Corona virus and COVID-19.  The government has called for a further 15 day moratorium that includes the following:

  • This means we officially move from on-site to on-line

  • No more than 10 people gathered

  • If someone in your house has testified positive, keep the entire household at home.

  • Do not go to work or school.

  • If you are an older person, stay home and away from other people

  • If you are a person with a serious underlying health condition, stay home and away from others.

  • Avoid discretionary travel, shopping trips and social visits.

  • Avoid eating or drinking in restaurants, bars, food courts. Use drive-through, pickup and delivery options.

  • Do not visit nursing homes or retirement or long-term care facilities.

  • Practice good hygiene

  • This social distancing policy may continue through the summer

  • Governor Brown today (Tuesday) has closed Oregon public schools until April 28th.

What this means for North Albany Community Church:

  • Beginning this Sunday NO ONE will be able to gather in our sanctuary except a small tech team, a worship person, and myself.

  • Our 21 Days of Prayer just became, “Pray Every Day” through Easter. Pastor Dave will email you and keep you up to date on this.

  • Our worship time will be streamed to our FaceBook page and through other means if possible.

  • We will enhance our Sunday stream by starting an online study together on Wednesday evenings with interactive prayer for our church family, also streaming on our FaceBook page (be patient as we set this up).

  • We are canceling all CARE Group activities.

  • All Children and youth activities are cancelled until further notice.

  • All out of country travel will be cancelled, ie. Honduras, Huruma.

  • We will suspend all visitation activity

  • Our Easter Services MAY BE cancelled, depending on the situation at that time.

  • All staff will work from home and will be in contact with each other via computer

  • The Elders will announce this week the name and phone number of who you should call for specific prayer, shopping needs, transportation, and other necessities so you may stay safe at home.

  • We are suspending our “Faith Projects” Giving until further notice.

  • Some have asked about giving.  We have 4 ways for this:

    • You can have your tithe put on an auto pay program at your bank. We recommend this as it will insure safe and swift transfer.

    • You can use PayPal via our website (they take about 2%), although this is online giving but not ongoing, you must do it each time you give.

    • You can send your giving in an envelope in the mail to the church.  Nothing like the good old mail, but count on delays.

    • You can drop it off at the church if there is someone in the office, so please call ahead as the outside doors will be locked.

We are following any announcements from government health officials to determine when active ministry can resume. Let’s all pray that the vaccine and the worry comes to fruition sooner than later.
